The purpose of the Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) is to help people in need in our local community. And folks, we need your help to do that!

The article explains the origin of the "Denim, Diamonds and Dancing" theme for an annual gala organized by the PCF Board. Post-gala discussions, while reflecting on the previous event's successes and setbacks, inspired the Western element of the theme, credited to the cowboy hat-wearing auctioneers. The "Dancing" aspect honors the band Brightside's performance, a regular highlight of the event. Despite being a somewhat common theme, "Denim and Diamonds" adds a semi-formal yet comfortable touch, encouraging guests to dress in upscale Western attire. The theme also aids in planning decorations, food, and games, with the board open to feedback for enhancing the gala's success, ultimately benefiting local charities.

The 2023 Emerald Gala was a tremendous success! Highlights were the wine bottle ring toss, some great green outfits, the energetic auctioneers and peacock decor! Here are some photos from the unforgettable evening.

We are dressing up for the first time since 2017 – no casual Friendsgiving this year – we are doing “creative semi-formal” with an emphasis on the color green. Or stuff your pockets with green, that works too!

For the first time since 2019, The Peninsula Community Foundation will host a Semi-Formal Gala on Saturday, November 19 to celebrate its 20th, and 21st anniversary at The Peninsula Club in Cornelius.
